The Pasadena Croquet Club was founded in 2006. We share clubhouse facilities with the Pasadena Lawn Bowling Club. The club is conveniently located in Central Park near Colorado Boulevard.

We play all forms of croquet, from backyard 9 wicket croquet, to Golf Croquet, to Association Rules 6 wicket croquet. Each year we host croquet tournaments, put on special croquet events and demonstrations, and regularly hold free public lessons or paid classes.

There are different levels of involvement. Many people simply come out on a Saturday for about an hour and learn how to swing the mallet, score wickets, etc. These lessons are always free to the public. Come as many times as you would like. Are you ready for a lesson?

For those who are ready to improve, take one of our four week croquet courses. They cost just $30 for the entire course. We guarantee that after taking one of these courses, you will be able to beat anybody in your annual family holiday tournament or in your neighborhood. Some of those who take our classes start playing in some of our tournaments against more experienced players. Are you ready for a class?

At this point, many people get hooked on croquet and want to join our club. Our fees are very reasonable, $100 for 6 months or $200 for the year. It's half price for a spouse. Club membership comes with full 24/7 access to our courts and clubhouse, so you can play any time you want, invite your friends to play, etc. Since we are part of the Pasadena Lawn Bowling Club, you can also learn how to lawn bowl and do that whenever you want. Classes are offered to members each Fall and Spring so they can improve their game, which are either free or greatly discounted. Club members also get discounts on the tournaments we put on during the Spring and early Summer. As it gets hot during the Summer, we have social-style fun events on weekend evenings when its cooler. So there is always something going on for club members during the year, except for the Winter season when the weather does not permit play. For more details, contact us.

Ben Rothman wins the 2019 World Croquet Championships at the Sussex County CC in England today, Sunday August 4, 2019.

80 of the best player from 19 countries competed in this year's GC Worlds.  The GC Worlds are held every two years and an American has never won, until now.

Competition started on Saturday, July 27, with four days of round-robin play.  The eighty competitors were grouped into 8 blocks of 10 players each.  Everybody played everyone in their block and the 4 players with the best record from each block went to a knock-out playoff for a total of 32 players in the playoff.  The early rounds in the knock-out were best 2 of 3 and the semi-finals and finals were the best 3 of 5.

Four former world champions were in this year's competition and all 4 were knocked out in the early rounds.

Ben won his block and in the knock-out defeated John Richardson from Canada (7-3, 7-5), Johnathan Powe from England (7-3. 7-4), Richard Bilton from England (7-4, 7-6, 7-2), Joshua Freeth from New Zealand (2-7, 3-7, 7-3, 7-5, 7-5) to set up the final match with Mohamed Karem from Egypt.  Ben bested Mohamed in a close battle (7-5, 2-7, 3-7, 7-6, 7-5).  It looked like Ben was a goner in the 4th game when he was behind 5-2 and he made some miraculous shots to come back and out score his opponent 5-1 in the last 6 hoops. The match between Ben and Mohamed was a classic battle that lasted almost 6 hours in front of more than 250 spectators.

Ben's best shot of the tournament was from an earlier round and was a jump shot fired from just in front of hoop 5, over the center stake, bouncing once over opponent's ball that was 2 feet in front of the hoop, and scoring hoop 6.
